Old ?i?kov, Prague 3, is located immediately adjacent to Prague City Centre and to Vinohrady (traditional upper-class neighbourhoud). ?i?kov was traditionally a working class neighbourhood built in the nineteenth century and is part of the Prague UNESCO preservation area. The area is famous for its picturesque hilly streets, small squares and endless trendy pubs. ?i?kov was initially overlooked by developers in the 1990’s as they favoured more upmarket Vinohrady. Now that most buildings in Vinohrady have been refurbished, developers and buyers are turning their attention to Old ?i?kov which has similar architecture and proximity to city centre. In the last few years Old ?i?kov and has quickly become one of the trendiest and most popular districts of Prague with young Czech and foreign professionals. The areas of ?i?kov that are closest to the centre and to the parks are most in demand, especially streets that border Vinohrady (Old ?i?kov). | |
